Across the miles, though far away,
I discovered a new friend today
I wrote a letter, she wrote me back.
It was filled with interesting things and facts
As we told our many stories and tales,
I found in common many things we shared.
As time went on, this person I once hardly knew,
Became a friend, so new and true.
I thank the Lord for my new friend
And pray our friendship will never end,
And every day I stop and think,
Some of the best friends are made by pen and ink.
We wrote and wrote and before we knew,
Our year as Grand Representatives was almost through,
So across the miles and far away,
I have a friend who also walks along the Rainbow way.
